I have a 2011 Juke with about 54K miles on it. The other night I was driving home and the car completly shutoff. When I tried to start it it wouldn't start it would just grinned. It was like it wasn't get fuel. When I took the car to a local guy he scanned for codes and it cam back with a PO340. The only thing I can find is bank 1 camshaft sensor is bad. Here is my questions the car has two sensors. I can't find anything online about a Juke with a camshaft sensor failure. Are they both the same part and has anyone had a simlar issue with a Juke?

Well, after taking a deeper look into the issue the Code was false. I put a camera down the oil fill cap and the valve train isn't moving when you crank the engine. I would have to say the timing chain went out it is at the dealer now. The car as 54K on so it should be under the power train warranty.

I am not sure how something electrical could control something machanical.

Thanks for the input

may I ask what was resolved? I see this post is several years old, but may be having some issues. my juke just threw the codes 340 and 335. camshaft/crankshaft sensor. won't turn over, just clicks and is done. was also smoke involved when the car shut down.
I'm curious as to what became of your car after all.

My 2011 Juke does the same thing, I changed the two brake switches, the battery fuse, both camshafts, crankshaft, had the battery and alternator checked and both were good. Juke still clicks when I try to start the car, but it starts after a few tries pushing the start button. Don't know what else to do. Dealership is expensive just to check it

Was the timing chain recall done on your car?

Yeah probably timing chain. Go to a dealer and have them check the VIN to see if the timing chain recall was performed on that car. If not you may be out of luck as the recall ended at least a year ago. If the recall was performed hopefully Nissan will warranty the recall. If the car was bought used check what your warranty is when you bought it.
