reverse lights/camera

Hi guys and girls, I have a 2017 1.5dci and just recently the reverse lights and camera stopped working. After checking all the fuses, bulbs and changing the rev switch, still nothing. So on the 3 wired connecter at the reverse switch, I powered No.1 wire and both the lights and camera worked. So the problem is the centre wire which is the feed to the reverse switch. Is there a fuse or relay somewhere I should be looking at as I can't find any mention of any specific to the rev switch

Welcome to the forum.

See this link for the Factory Service Manual

When you put the gear in reverse, regardless of it being an auto or manual, there is a switch/sensor that detects that you put it in reverse. Sounds like
that switch/sensor isn't functioning.
I thought you maybe meant there was a extra switch near the stick

Yep, the switch on the gearbox, already checked that. (y). 3 wires come to that switch 1, 2 ,3. No.1 is the feed out to the reverse lights/camera when R is selected, this wire is ok. No.3 is the feed out to P/N warning lights safety switch, this is also ok. The centre wire No.2 should be the + in to the switch but it is not showing any voltage. So my problem is---Where is my voltage ?? All fuses check out OK

I've checked all 3 fuse boxes, there is no fuse directly linked the the reverse switch that I can find. The centre wire dissapears into the wiring loom and I can't find where it goes or where it gets it's live from.

That's the pic from the service manual that I've used too, showing continuity etc

Just to be clear, when the manual says continuity, it means between between the 2 pins, not continuity with the vehicle ground. So when in R, you should take the multimeter and put red on pin 1 and black on pin 2, if there is 0 resistance (or negligible resistance), then the reverse switch is functioning correctly.

The switch is new and I know it is working as I have checked continuity correctly. I have checked 3 fuse boxes too

So in simple terms, there are 3 wires going into the Reverse switch. These can be labelled 1,2,3.
2 is 12v+ feed in, 1 and 3 are 12v+ out depending on gear stick position (R, pin 1 or P/N, pin 3 ) I know that 1 and 3 are working but the live in (centre pin) is dead and should be 12v +. Where does it get this live?

I looked up the connectors. There is a 3 pin connector for the park neutral position switch. The Back-up lamp switch is a 2 pin connector. Find that switch and check it.

This is the wiring diagram from the AV section.

This is still wrong for my car. As I have said, my car has a 3 pin reverse/Neutral switch. I know you are trying to help but you are not reading my posts. I've already explained what the 3 wires do so it is NOT a 2 wire

It is possible that the BCM is malfunctioning and needs to be reset.

The BCM can only be reset by Nissan Consult software. No codes will be present. Disconnecting the battery will do nothing as well.

Well, what a result---------IT'S WORKING :D:D I had checked all the fuses on the car for continuity, all had checked out ok. I finally found in a wiring diagram that showed the camera and reverse/back-up lamps are going through fuse No.5 in the passsenger side fuse box. Stupidly, this fuse is labelled METER IGN 10A on the fuse box lid and even more stupidly, F13 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER on the Juke diagram on this picture for 2011-2017 Fuse Box. The fuse was good but had a real poor connection
hence why continuity checked out. Mr Nissan, please put correct labels on fuses, it would make so much sense... Happy bunny now (y):D
