After the engine is warm and I've been driving for abit I'll feel a faint shudder during idle at a stop light or coming to a short stop. I have the cvt. Transmission obv and I know it fluctuates revs and all. This shudder doesn't feel right. Can it be tied to my short ram???

Sometimes I think I feel a shudder also.

Ok, I thought I was getting all worried cause I thought I felt it too before the install so I figured I throw this question up on the forum because I couldn't find anything on it

Mine shudders at a light sometimes too, I figure she's just clearing her throat, discreetly telling me "let's go!", like my ex used to do.

Mine also slightly shudders when coming to a stop light. I know InsideLine had an article about it. But another user on here, Maxpeet, posted this.

I've experienced something like that. From what I can tell, it's the Torque Converter switching from 1:1 to "idle", because it's still a viscous-fluid automatic. Since the engine is also revving higher than idle because you haven't come to a complete stop yet, it's still trying to move the car forward, and I think that's why the brake pedal seems to soften.
It's the reverse of what happens when you accelerate from a stop: The engine revs high, then as you continue to accelerate, the revs drop and you can feel it 'settle' in - thats the torque converter switching to 1:1 ratio. (I don't know if it's actually 1:1, but it's not infinity:0 like at idle)

I shudder at the thought of someone buying something other than a Juke, just sayin'.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I figure it makes for less clutter than a new one on the same topic.

So, has anyone found a reason for the stuttering/shuddering on startup or at idle? I have experienced both in my 2013 SL AWD with 36,000 miles. I have an oil change scheduled for Monday and have mentioned it to the dealership for them to look into. I have only owned the Juke for a couple weeks and otherwise it runs great and has a solid service record.

The dealership did a fast idle relearn to my car and that seemed to fix the idle issue, so far. I also ran Seafoam through the fuel system. Not certain if this is a similar situation or not. Mine was ok at idle but when I came to a stop or shifted into reverse the idle dropped hard and the car shuddered. Stalled once when put into reverse

Turn idle up to 800 rpm. Within Factory spec. Call it a day.

Clean the MAF

The Juke has very noisy injectors. You might be hearing the injectors and not the camshaft on the valve stems. Or the high pressure fuel pump, that's also very noisy even at idle. The injectors sit forward and under the intake manifold and the fuel pump sits driver side on top of the engine under a big piece of black foam to deaden some of the sound.

Mine will rev and bounce a little at idle but not 500-2000rpm, usually it stutters the first few cycles. I've seen my idle stick at 1500rpm and slowly bounce down to 1000rpm. It doesn't like to sit at low idle (mine is tuned and set at 750rpm, stock is 600rpm I believe) unless it's fully warmed up and in gear, otherwise it'll bounce between 800-1000rpm. You may also need to run the idle air relearn procedure after cleaning the MAF.
