I would start doing it regularly. Really, the concern would be your intake valves, as most cleanings go into the throttle body. CRC says you can go through the turbo, after the MAF, and I did that once, but the cleaner can pool in your intercooler. If you haven't yet, it may be good to have a pro do it first to avoid and scoring/chunks of carbon from breaking off, then do it yourself at least once a year to keep it from building up. Do it before an oil change, as some of the stray will get past the rings. It may be good to get a look at your intake valves to see how bad they are, if you are concerned.

I have not seen any oil burn issues (did it when I bought mine with 60k).

 

I had the Nissan dealership do it. It wasn't Seafoam, they use a different product called 'Terraclean' from the UK and (to my understanding) a different procedure with a proprietary machine.

You have to be careful with dealers, especially around here. If they don't know what an induction cleaning is or why you would need one, I wouldn't trust them to work on my car. I would not recommend going to Nissan of Queens (maybe Titan overall).

I've done and induction cleaning several times on my wife's '12 SL AWD and once on my recently acquired '14 SL AWD. Both Jukes are still under warranty and no observed ill effects from induction cleaning.

If done properly is should cause no harm. I no longer use Sea Foam for this, not that it's a bad choice as I have been a Sea Foam user for decades in every thing from my BMWs to weed whackers.

After a lot of on line research I now use Gum Out Multi System Tune Up for this and or Gum Out Regane Direct Injection Intake Valve and Port Cleaner which is an aerosol and needs no additional tools to use. Both products contain PEA (Polyetheramine) a superior detergent that withstands the high temperature in the combustion chamber so it can actually be effective.

You could think of the Gum Out Multi System Tune Up as Sea Foam 2.0, it's a very similar product with the addition of PEA.

CRC Intake valve and Turbo Cleaner is another aerosol product that contains PEA which I have used.

Note: Each of the products I have used are ingested in the intake system post MAF, inter-cooler and throttle body by way of a vacuum line that connects directly to the intake manifold. Thus no issues with MAF or turbo seals and bearings nor liquids pooling in the inter-cooler. There are 2 such lines on the portion of the intake manifold that faces the front of the car, one has a check valve where it joins the manifold, do not use that one.

I found a couple of tools that makes performing the induction clean a lot easer.

Run Rite Basic Intake Cleaning tool PN 9550 Lisle 48700 Throttle Pedal Depressor

I no longer use fuel system cleaners that don't contain PEA.
Examples of those that do contain PEA are Chevron Techron & Red Line SI-1.

 

Dude so the line with the small plastic check valve do not use it isnt directly connected to the manifold (the valve i mean ) but rather in line of the hose connected to the just under the Throttle Body i gotta take a pic on lunch

You can make a simple tool for the accelerator using a rod of some sort and one or two vice grips etc. Its not too hard.

Prolly the best stuff for your tank right now is BG K44 stuff. An no its not cheap.

Which lines did you guys use? It looks like you used the line under the black hose but which one. But read on another thread that they used the other hose line that I took a pic of. I haven't been able to get that hose off to do a cleaning yet but I do use either bg440k or Chevron Techron at every oil change for the injectors. In August I will be taking my 2016 to the dealer for their induction cleaning. And the Chevron Techron seemed to helped the most. Im at 40k miles so not too many but its getting up there considering i got her with 30 miles on it 2 years ago.

I just did induction cleaning at 15k inserted nozzle after the maf sensor. I used crc, no issues with misfire codes even though I choked it out a couple of times and had to restart

Next time you want to do it just before the Throttle Body so it goes directly into the intake and thusly the Intake valves can get soaked and cleaned.

You dont want to inject that stuff into the Turbo.

 

Fascinating. I'm guessing my dealer isn't too knowledgeable. They are the number one volume dealer in the GTA. I recall an unrelated slip out at the service desk. "We rarely see the Jukes back for service..." Make of that what I will.
