Welcome to the forum. We have seen similar issues reported before here on the forum. If you use the search you might be able to find a couple of them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Auto Start/Stop is a feature on the UK or European Jukes. The North American Jukes do not have this feature so there's limited knowledge about it. My initial thought would be the alternator was not charging properly. My second thought is something is draining the battery when parked. I've seen stuck relays cause a battery drain issue.

Yeah sorry, I should have made that clear - it is a UK model.

I actually had the old battery and the current alternator tested, and they were both holding a charge. But I decided just to go ahead with the battery change because I had been advised that the old battery was the issue and that there was evidence of the same thing happening on the 2013/14 models (which mine is).

I have Googled the hell out of it, and it all comes back to same thing - the battery being the issue. I thought a replacement would have solved this, but it hasn’t

 

In the past, alternators have been checked and reported as OK, only to find out that replacing the alternator fixes the problem.

I realize there is cost and risk involved, not knowing for sure if it will solve the problem. I always recommend that people have problems serviced at Nissan dealerships as they are more knowledgeable about our vehicles (which have gotten more complex in recent times). Often times, your local mechanic doesn't have the tools, knowledge, and or training to diagnose and service newer vehicles. So if you want to be sure, take it to a dealership.

 

just for the heck of it. Read the owners manual and see what it says about the systems(s) in question.

Had this issue after queuing for petrol and the stop/start and lights drained the battery right down. Tested battery and alternator all fine in my 67 plate 1.6 DIG
Seems to me that once the light starts flashing it's impossible to turn off even with a replacement battery or your battery being OK. I solved this issue by buying a OB2 scanner/ Creader on ebay for £15. No DTC error codes found on scan but reset the ECU and cleared the codes anyway and light now off and stop start working again. Cheaper than taking it to Nissan just to reset at £80 an hour for a diagnostic. Handy little tool to have

I know this thread was a while ago but you are my absolute saviour!! I was going insane, new battery etc and the flipping light still flashing! Nissan wanted £168 to plug it in so bought the OBD2 reader £14.79 Amazon, ran diagnosis and no errors so hit reset and boom no flashing light!! Thank you so much!!!!!! Now I pray it stays off 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Thank you, I know the thread is quite old, now any issues with the car? I got alternator checked, new battery, but the car was slow to start this morning, A-off was flashing, it happens once a month approximately all of a sudden 🤔

 

I had this issue and it was due to the clutch switch on its way out. There are 2, one controls the engine (stop/start) the other is cruise control ect. Replaced and all is great 😊

 

@beckyb88 where is this switch located?
