Hi there, I was hoping someone could help me.
A few weeks ago while driving, the Auto light (Start/Stop light) began to flash on the dashboard which had never occurred before. After I parked up for a while, the engine began to chug when I turned the ignition on but eventually started, with the light flashing once again & the stop/start not operating.
I then stupidly left the car parked for a week or so, and when I started the car it did not start. I knew straight away it would be a flat battery after reading online that the Auto light flashing is a sign of a weak battery.
I had managed to jump-start the car with leads, and this solved the problem. The car started fine with no Auto light flashing. Start/Stop tech even back working.
Everything was fine until 4 days ago when the Auto light began to flash. I decided to book it into a garage to have it investigated, as the engine chug had returned as well when turning the ignition.
The mechanic got back to me advising that the battery and the alternator were actually fine - holding a charge. But I decided to just go along with a battery replacement anyway - which he duly obliged.
I picked the keys up earlier today and left the car at the garage as I had to return to work. When I got back to the car later on, the Auto light was still flashing and the Start/Stop tech still not operating!
I’m really at the end of my tether with it - especially going ahead with the battery replacement which I believed would resolve the issue.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
