Clutch not engaging

I have a 6 speed manual 2014 Juke Nismo RS that will not engage the transmission when shifting into gears. Was driving with no transmission issues at all. Came to a stop, shifted into 1st, let off the clutch and it did not engage. I can shift the gears and the cable moves the lever on top of the transmission like it's shifting gears properly. The shifter seems to feel like it always has. The clutch petal seems to have decent pressure although it does feel a little different. Anyone have any ideas on this? The clutch has been working great until this happened out of the blue. I appreciate any insight you might have on this. I need this car running asap. Thanks

Check your brake fluid level. That is the clutch fluid too.

Good call on the fluid check. You also might want to bleed the clutch master/slave cylinder even though they share a common reservoir they have dedicated hydraulic lines. But if the pedal feels weird like it doesn't stiffen up right away then that is a good place to check. There shoudn't be much free travel from the top otherwise there is air in the system and the pedal will feel weird and this means the slave cylinder is not getting sufficient throw to actuate the pressure plate. I just used handheld MityVac for this on my last clutch swap (i.e. EVO).

For the shifter to not engage the gear is because the clutch has to disengage the flywheel so your getting blocked from engagement in the transmission is probably more accurate. It'll just kick the hubslider back which is what your probably experiencing. I'd have to check the Juke FSM but on my vehicle the shifter bracket assembly on the trans case also has to be precisely aligned using the bolts to get the shifter to operate properly otherwise it produces similar symptoms but that's my vehicle.

Slave is most likely gone. Fluid check is just an easy thing to do.

Check for fluid leaks under the transmission as well for the hydraulic slave cylinder. You might also check for leaks near the clutch pedal to see if it's the master clutch cylinder faililng though less likely I've had one fail before on another car and the brake/clutch fluid will get inside on the carpet.
