I have a Nissan Juke 2013. The front driver side wiper is travelling far and is going well off the windshield. Also, the resting position seems off too (seems higher than how it should ideally be I guess). Please see in the attached images the resting position and the extent to which the wiper goes while operating.
What could be the issue and what needs to be done to fix it? Any help would be appreciated.
Perhaps someone did not put the wiper arm on in the correct spot, maybe after replacing the struts. Remove the wiper arm and put it back on in the correct spot.
Take the cap off at the bottom of the wiper arm, remove the nut, move rotate the arm over a tooth or two and torque the nut down to 17 ft-lb.
May I know if you were able to resolve this? I recently bought a pre owned juke and only found the issue recently. I'm thinking maybe moving the wiper arm but wanted to ask first if in case. Thank you.
Just to update I just went ahead and adjusted the wiper arm. It was easy enough to fix as advised, just open up the bonnet/hood, remove the cap at the end of the wiper arm to expose the 14mm bolt. Remove the bolt, adjust the arm, tighten the bolt back again and re attach the cap after.
Thank you all for the advice. Apologies for not responding before. @jephpej: Yes, I fixed it the same way, as advised by other members - basically moving it back a few teeth.
