The ECU may require renewal and is fitted with a OEM part label that reads

DEA 010 0570

I am trying to locate a second hand unit
Does the replacement ECU have to have the same identity numbers on the OEM part label

Cars booked in at Nissan for a diagnostic at the end of March, I was trying to find possible repairs before then.

From what I know. And ECU should be a drop in and go. It wont know that the prior engine is different than yours. It might be a simple thing for you to do but it also may be throwing money at nothing. Taking it to a professional will save you money in the long run in most cases.
