This week in the Autobild Motor Magazine is a review on SUV's and a mention of the new Qashqai. The new Nissan Qashqai 2014 is based on the Nissan Hi-Cross Concept Car. The new model will have a bolder front end, dynamic curves along its sides and a large roof spoiler at the rear and will be built on a new, modular platform also used by Renault. This has been engineered to accept plug-in hybrid technology and the Qashqai is first in line to use a plug-in hybrid version which will be introduced into showrooms in Europe in 2015. The hybrid’s CO2 emissions will dip under 50g/km, while a 113bhp 1.2-litre supercharged three-cylinder engine will replace the current 1.6-litre petrol. The new 1.6-litre diesel carried over from the current car, will have its CO2 cut to below 100g/km.High-end versions will still be offered with four-wheel drive, and while the car will be larger, prices will be similar to today’s model. Yeah thats cool looking. Alot better than the very average styling of the current Q. Theres thousands and thousands of them here in Danmark... Nearly all of them damn boring!

sigmax6, I do not think it is getting to this yet but there are so many manufactureres now producing 3 cyl motors. I was at our Nissan Dealer yesterday looking at the new Note (Versa) and this has an S 3cyl option as well as the Micra.
At present Nissan, VW (Polo), GM (Opel Adam), Ford (Fiesta 2014) for example use 3 cyls and In the future the Ecotec in the Chevy Volt 2015 / Cadillac ELR 2016 are planned.
