I've had this car (used) for 4 yrs (45K mi.).
I had a new Juke S 2013 before that. Always used 5W-30 oil.I've been putting (dealer) Mobil One synthetic 5-30 in it. This last time the mechanic pointed out it takes 5-20 (he showed me). I had no idea. They never mentioned this before. I bring the oil and have bought a bit of it on sale. Does this make me a bad person? Am I pissing off the engine? It's a 6 spd and I drive it in std mode.

Yeah, he mentioned 2013 which threw me off. Gen 2 run the thinner 0w-20 oil, Gen 1 the 5w-30.

Yeah, I read the thing wrong too lol. I would personally switch back to the recommended factory grade.

Definitely run the 0w20. Maybe keep the same brand and just switch weights.
