Hi

I have bought a new 2021 Nissan Juke and strangely noticed that the boot can still be opened manually when the car is electronically locked. Hard to believe! - anybody can open it and enter the car which is a risk. This cannot be such a Security error by the manufacturer who calls it Next Gen Juke.

Does anybody know how to fully secure mechanism where car boot should not open when the car is locked?

If the car is locked, the rear hatch is locked also. Lock the doors and leave your key inside the house and try to open it. It is locked.

Side note, there are (2) buttons on the rear hatch. The round one is the lock and the square one is the opener. If you push the round lock button, it will open the hatch.

Actually, donno about Gen1 but Gen2 if you push the square opener one when it's locked (fob close by) it will unlock everything AND open the hatch. You can then lock with the round button.

My wife can leave her purse in the trunk with a fob in it, the Juke will detect the key is INSIDE the car and not allow the hatch to open from outside unless another key is detected. I think Nissan did good (on something) about the fob entry stuff.
