Hello,

New to jukes bought it because it was Clean, Hella cheap (under $6000 100k miles), stickshift, and turbo. Planning to mod it just a bit. Ordered an Injen Air Intake, Exhaust bits to make a custom catback, currently shopping for wheels and tires. After I do all that I'm leaving it alone ( I hope ). If I get the itch may get coilovers but being that I live in PA our roads aren't really great for lowered rides.

I've been Lurking around for a bit reading through threads and looking at builds / vids. A lot of you guys are super creative and I appreciate seeing your builds!

Welcome to the forums! A tune will give you the most bang for your buck. An air intake or exhaust with no tune is purely cosmetic and only for sound.

Oh yeah! Any recommendations for tune companies?

As of right now. We dont know if UPREV is working with the Juke. It might be. They had issues with their tuning software.

You can tune remotely meaning not use a dyno. If you have a dyno nearby that uses Uprev or Ecutek then go for that.

I think you are in Jersey near Philly and there is a tuner I have used in Lansdale Pa. DMann Tuning. He does remote and dyno tuning. Drunkmann Tuning for the Juke

Ecutek use Fast Religion for a remote tune. You will need a laptop and Ecutek kit for that. Contact Us

Pretty sure Joe @ 2J just posted a build on facebook and used UpRev on it. I'm not sure of details beyond that.

A few things to note:

Never get a vehicle remote tuned if it is not on a dyno. You cannot get the needed data from each pull to see if you are making enough forward progress to make the continued abuse worth it. 1 degree of timing can add horsepower or it can cost horsepower, and you are not going to know without the proper tools to measure it. Get the car on a dyno, do it right and do it safely. No one needs you doing 4th gear 120 mph rips up the street to get one datalog.

The issues that uprev has had are still going on. I was contacted a few months ago by someone out west who was having issues That brings our total count up to 13 confirmed nation wide cases with uprev software. We have switched to ECUtek because it 100% works without issue, and the customer support is 10x better. Can you still tune with uprev? probably. Will we take that risk just in case there is another issue? no. Not unless uprev is the only option for said vehicle.

Not doing bolt ons and getting a tune will net gains. yes. But it will also cause long term problems if the vehicle is driven hard. You are PAST the limit of what the OEM parts where designed for. The OEM intercooler has heat soak issues from the factory. So piling on more boost to that is just asking for knock and loss of power. The OEM cat's stink to high hell after several rips in a row at stock power, and if you can smell them, your burning them. So piling on more exhaust pressure and heat will just speed up the damage. The OEM diverter valve LEAKS from the factory. So piling on more boost will just over-work the turbocharger even more, which can reduce turbo life and increase intake air temps dramatically.

If you want PERFORMANCE from a Juke, don't even look at anything under 4500 rpm on a dyno graph to see what your getting. Because when you shift at redline, your not going below that. when you get into the next gear. So if your tuner is tuning your turbo to be so maxed out that your torque drops nearly 50% from peak to redline, your just asking to break something.

I'm going to say something very personal here for a second:

I am getting EXTREMELY aggravated with people telling other people to cut corners to save money. If you don't do it right, you will end up paying for it down the literal road. A customer in New York spent north of $5000 to do a "cheap" build with a local place that had never tuned or worked on a Juke. Guess what, four months later, the car was here spending another $7000 to fix it enough to drive, and it still needs a new engine and transmission to be back to 100%. There have been 2 blown up 21T turbochargers I have been told about in just the past month, one of which i held in my hands, yet people still keep recommending them to get some cheap power. Everyone and their mother asks about remote street tuning to save $800 in dyno time, and and told its fine to do that. It just is not. Dyno's would not be as plentiful or as popular if street tuning a car was the right way to do it. DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. If you cant afford to do it right, here is the harsh truth you need to hear: DON'T DO IT AT ALL. This is an expensive hobby. This is a time consuming hobby. This is not a hobby you should be doing with your only vehicle.

Understood so after intake/exhaust, catch can and wheels/tires upgrade the intercooler, get blow off valve? And upgrade the cats? Then get it professionally tuned at a shop.

Not pushing for major performance gains just a lil bit extra.

If you want just better sound with intake turbo noise, get a short ram intake, exhaust, and I would recommend an upgraded intercooler kit since the factory is terrible. If you don't want to spend thousands of dollars more, stop there and enjoy the car. If you do want to spend some money but not go for Big horsepower, you will need a new downpipe and second cat pipe, intercooler, upgraded diverter valve, and a professional tune on a dyno. Now if you have a few thousand dollars burning a whole in your pocket and you're a masochist (jk lol), do a 300whp big turbo build. If for some reason, you'd rather spend $30k+ on a Juke build instead of a down payment on a C8 corvette, do the 400+whp build.

If this is your only car and you don't really have a lot of spare money to throw at it, just go with the first option I listed and maybe throw some new rim & tires and enjoy it for what it is.

I'm down with the way you think! 100% exhaust, intake, wheels tires, upgraded intercooler diverter valve and then just enjoy it 😀 because after looking at all the prices I was astounded how quickly the cost rises 😆 would I benefit from an oil cooler ?

I forgot to mention I can do smaller things on the cheap because my father is a mechanic and loves to tinker with projects with me.

My dad took the Juke for a ride. He throughly enjoyed taking it for a spin. He was surprised at the pep in the little 1.6L. We're installing a new radio headunit today due to the lack of bluetooth. This unit> https://a.co/d/8BVmZHO

Thanks I was hoping it would sound good and not whiney and I'm pleasantly surprised! Thinking of painting the stock wheels black or bronze. I may dip them to see which I like more.

Ordered an OBDII Electronic Gauge that displays a whole bunch of different info including air/fuel, boost, etc supposedly fully customizable. It arrives tomorrow. I'll let you guys know if it was worth it 😆
