Get the brakes fixed if they are bad and worry about the engine when it does it all the time.

Its a weird ticking noise that is faint, but if the front driver window is down its very loud and noticeable. It doesnt really happen when i avoid bumps and drive smoothly. Do you think it could be cv and if so how would I make sure?

We cannot diagnose with out a sound clip. If it is this loud. Try to record it and upload it to Youtube. If not. Take it to a mechanic.
