Hmm interesting, where did you find out that the OEM ones are a Chinese brand? Im just wondering because on the package it says country of origin "Japan". And if they are made in China thats pretty deceptive.
Because it was molded with a Chinese name or Made in China as this is the first thing I check before I order up parts. I couldn't find a Japanese supplier name anywhere on the coilpack which with the other sensors you can clearly see Hitachi or whatever, injectors have Bosch molded next to the Nissan pad print, etc. Not to say the OEM didn't change suppliers later but the 2012 original coilpacks are 100% chinese made and/or branded if I recall. This prompted me to immediately order up the Hitachi coilpacks from Rock Auto which was a no-brainer based on cost and reputation. Again, possibly the newer Nissan OEM coilpacks are made in Japan now but not my originals. Whether there is a difference in quality or specs I can't say but if I can run Japanese parts I will.
That's great. The Rock Auto coil packs from Hitachi are significantly cheaper, that is the main point of my response. I'm not going to recommend a Hanshin coilpack @ $100 when a Hitachi is like $54 and also is an OEM supplier to Nissan. Buy whatever you choose to.
