Can you take a part a camshaft sensor connector like a GM weather pack?

I want to take a part my camshaft sensor connector as the plastic clip is broken and don't want to splice in a new pigtail as it just adds another possible point of failure Anybody know if it can be done?

Im not sure if anyone sells the connector itself. Youll have to look around. Adding a new pigtail is perfectly reliable. Just do it right.

pigtails work well but like I said it adds a possible point of failure not that it's going happen but it does add that risk regardless of how small.
...the only way its a point of potential failure is if you don't do it correctly. Quality butt connectors and quality heat shrink with good anti-tug mounting and it will out-last the car.

I have to disagree with you. Keep in mind the chance is slim done right butt:) still there. One plus one is 2 or in this case 3 plus 3 is 6.
Life is full of chances of critical failures. The only thing that gets us through the day is weighing the probabilities and taking the gambles.

....im not getting the logic here...there's a chance that every sensor in that car can die at any moment...so do you just not drive it to make 100% sure it won't brake? There's a chance that when you pin a new connector, that a pin doesn't sit perfect and could dislodge...There's a chance that you can twist your neck the wrong way in your sleep and wake up paralyzed....do you not sleep?

The point is your in adding three more possibilities and if you can avoid doing that and fix it could be worth it. I'm not saying don't do it I'm simple saying avoid it if you can. Funny thing is I have broken my neck before.
