Hi All,
My wife’s 2019 juke (old shape) bonnet just flew open.
There appears to be a sensor that I can’t see has any other use than for a bonnet sensor. It’s the same as the one in the photo.
Manual makes no mention of a bonnet sensor and I have seen some posts saying they do and others say they don’t.
Can anyone help me identify this sensor / switch?

Found a youtube video that shows it exists (bottom right looks like it):

North American 1.6T jukes don't have that.

Another video with what appears to be a non-turbo (1.5 or 1.2? not sure). Video uploaded 2018, so its at least older than that. And it has no sensor.

Can't find a part number anywhere though.

thank you!
Can you think of any reason that a car would have the sensor but if not actually do anything?
I’m in the uk by the way :)

In searching, I saw something about a Uk lawsuit vs nissan for 2016 models regarding faulty hood latches. Maybe that happened a couple years later and nissan decided to put a sensor there to avoid future liability?

And yes, UK... You have a little union jack next to your name 😉

Just to add to the confusion, I had 😢 a 1.6T Juke in Australia and it also had this sensor.
I'm certain this was a bonnet latch switch but it had no effect - I could lock the car no problem with the bonnet open which I assume is usually one of the functions of these switches?
