I have always been of the mind "if I have to replace, I might as well upgrade." I blew out the boot on my passenger CV axle. DIdn't know until she dried out and started shakin' and breakin'. I need a new passenger side axle and was wondering: the OEM is over $$400 while a brand new store bought is around $150. Is there any detriment to using a new store name (i.e. Duralast, Carquest, etc) to save money?? Can these handle the modified torque I might throw at them?? Should I try to find an aftermarket for near the OEM price, or should I just suck it up and get the OEM part knowing its spec manufactured?? The price seems high for a factory 'non-upgrade' part. If it's the same across the board, then screw it, I would rather just save the money.

Go with the best quality brand you can. OEM is way worth it.
