Rough start to the world of Juke - Fuel pump fuse keeps blowing

Hey guys howzit. Doing my first forum post slightly delayed

Bought a pre-owned 2012 Juke DIG-T with about 62000km. Drove it for the first time a month later because of a shoulder op then about a week later I was driving on the highway doing about 100km/h and the car switched off. I pulled over and i tried the start/stop button and the engine swings over but doesnt start. Sent it away to a Nissan dealership and they replaced the fuel pump fuse which had blown. Drove it for another week and the same thing happened, this time while pulling away. A technician came out and ran a diagnostic on the side of the road and it was the same fuel pump fuse that was blown this time it blew continuously after replacing the fuse 3 or 4 times.

The car stayed at the dealership and even went away to a specialist for 3 weeks and the fuse didnt blow again. I have my car back now but neither the dealership nor the specialist could find what was causing it so the fuse was simply just replaced and the problem remains a mystery.

I need help tracking down the cause of the so I can have it fixed for good. Please help.

Sorry for the morbid first post. Will post something more upbeat soon hopefully

    Welcome to the forum!

fuses blow mostly due to a short in the circuit. A short is also one of the most difficult problems to find. Sounds to me that when the technician replaced the fuel pump, he pinched a wire. The test drive and you pulling out of the dealership worked thru the insulation on the wire and the short happened. If the tech retraced his steps and made sure the harnesses are not pinched, you should be ok.

    aah! thanks for the response!

the technician didnt replace the fuel pump it was only just the fuse that was replaced because it had blown. To date its only been the fuse on the two occasions i was driving. i was hoping the fuel pump was the problem and that it would be replaced and problem fixed but no, only the fuse keeps blowing thats mostly the reason why the cause of the fuse blowing has not been established.

happy new year btw man. hope its a good year ahead

Sounds like the pump is the short. I would start there.

slinx, Do you have any news on your problem? I'm experiencing the exact same issue. The funny thing is my juke is also a 2012 Dig-T with about 65 000km on the odo.
