    Juke Off Road (Mud/Sand)

Test Nissan Juke off road - YouTube

Looks like it was on 2 wheels only at the end and the AWD system couldn't send enough power to the wheels with contact. I'm not sure, but I think he did a bit of brake torquing to get out.

I'm almost certain the Juke's AWD is meant to give better road traction in the curves and wet, not offroad...

That being said, he's using street tires in the sand...

Does that euro model have traction control? If it does i'm disappointed in it's performance regarding controlling wheel spin. When it was stuck at the end, that right front tire didn't appear to be modulating at all.

All in all, I think the Juke did really well considering it wasn't designed to do what he was doing with it. It did get it self out of that nasty rut after a little work, and on packed treaded street tires no less.

Some AT tires would make a world of difference!

Sand and those tires, along with them being fully inflated, will not mix well as you see. Not bad otherwise. Just glad the climate here is to the point where I have the FWD and will not be tempted to torture the suspension like that.

The key to sand is speed and tires. Neither of which were present in that video.

I love AWD. I would never take mine to that extreme.

That is a very nice find.
However, just as many of you, I am puzzeled as to why the awd juke would be spinning its front tires at the end... technically if you switch to "awd lock" the back wheels should have been turning but they were not???
