2011 Nissan Juke SL Review [video]

There are those who will tell you that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That it's subjective. They are wrong. Ignore their post-modern psychobabble.

Beauty is objective. Great minds from Plato to Kant had it right. Need proof? The Nissan Juke. It is not, in any sense of the word, beautiful. In fact, one can definitively say it is the opposite.

If there's a philosopher out there with an objective theory of fun, well, that's where the Juke fits in. It is, without a doubt, a thoroughly enjoyable driving machine. Many, many crossovers promise car-like driving dynamics. The Juke delivers and then some. In fact, it might be the first instance where the crossover version has less body roll than the sedan it's based on – with the Juke sharing its underpinnings with the wallowy Versa.

Now do your best to ignore you ever read the word 'Versa' because even the remotest of comparisons between that oversized sub-compact and the Juke will create preconceived notions in your head about this SportCross that should not be there.

Nice to see a fresh video. It looked like they had winter tires on that Juke.
    What color was that Juke?

The color is bronze (very rare color), I almost bought one but then it sold before I could get my hands on it.

Why is it reviewers of the JUKE hate the way it looks. I love it, it is truly unique and there is nothing on the road that it mimics
    1992 Nissan 240 (sold)
1990 Nissan Maxima (4DSC all stock)
1992 Nissan Maxima (4DSC nothing stock except glass full custom)
2003 Nissan 350z (Track model, exhaust, intake spacer, cai, cross drilled roters... sold )
2011 Nissan Juke (SL,CVT,FWD) let the mods begin

I wasn't sure if it was the elusive Metallic Bronze or the Black in sunlight.

I have wondered on reviewers comments about ugly looks too. I have never had so many compliments on a car I have driven as the Juke. In 4 months of owning it I have had no less than 4 people come up and talk to me and ask me about the vehicle, and probably dozen compliments from fast food window clerks. A lot of people like the looks (granted it isn't for everybody). I do have a flashy electric blue version too. Nissan should make these in orange, yellow, lime green, etc.

I think lime green would be awesome, and I wish the electric blue was more like the mazda speed blue (lighter & brighter). I like the purple I've seen on a couple car sites. The bronze is really ugly in person! I'm happy with my graphite blue, though....

Even if a Juke is considered ugly, for some reason its just hard not to like them!
