Nissan GT-R RC to Debut at Tokyo Auto Salon Alongside Modified Leaf, Juke

Nissan is set to showcase nine models at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon, with the star certain to be the GT-R RC (Racing Edition).

Based on the production GT-R, the Racing Edition is built by NISMO specifically for track duty and will meet FIA standards allowing it to race in different series throughout the world. It will come with a roll cage, 120-liter fuel cell, air jacks and feature racing slicks and a custom suspension.

In addition to this car and several others, Nissan will also put the focus on tuning with two modified vehicles: the Juke and the Leaf. Starting with the Leaf, Nissan will unveil what it calls the Leaf Aero Style Concept. Essentially a Leaf with a wild body kit, Nissan intends to showcase what the future of electric cars might look like.

As for the Juke, it will be shown with a 'Sporty Package' including numerous accessories like 17-inch aluminum wheels. Nissan has said the parts will be offered in North America and Europe in the future.

    • JUKE Sporty Package (Reference exhibit)
With its dealer-installed option enhancing JUKE’s strong, dynamic feel, this custom car is equipped with exterior accessories designed for the European and North American markets. The car includes chrome parts and 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels

I was all excited till I saw its nothing more then some chrome do dads and wheels. Give us some functional stuff that works for performance...please.. if I want to see chrome i can just open my silverware drawer in the kicthen, that would be just as exciting

I saw the same article hit my inbox this morning and got pretty excited when I saw aftermarket, modified and Juke in the same sentence.

My excitement went to "Wait what?!" when I saw their description of "aftermarket".

Considering the reported success of the Juke, I'm hoping genuine aftermarket improvements will be out soon. If not, I might have to trade this in for a Civic

I think it will be a year or even more till we start seeing some neat stuff hit the market, at least in the USA. Didnt Nissan quote 20,000 jukes first year for USA? Takes alot more then that number to spark the interest of companies to start designing and rolling out good aftermarket stuff to sell, and to make any money off it.
