Juke or Rogue? Need Some Help From Juke Owners!

I currently have a 2011 Nissan Versa Hatchback. I LOVE the car and it's fuel economy (avg 29-30mpg) but I want something with a little more style inside and nicer options. I have narrowed it down to a Nissan Rogue SV (Nav, Sunroof, Bluetooth, Back Up Camera) or Nissan Juke (AWD, Nav, Sunroof, Bluetooth). The Juke will run me about $2,000 more even though the Rogue starts off $2,000 more because of rebates. I'm talking an extra $50 or so if I went with the Juke. I've looked them over both pretty well and like the styling of the Juke better. The upside to the Rogue is the fact it's capable of towing up to 2,500 lbs and I do mobile dj'ing from time to time so I wouldn't need a roadie if I went with that.

It appears based on gas mileage posts that the Juke gets about what the Rogue is rated to go so fuel economy may be a wash. Has anyone owned or currently own both that can compare how they compare in the longterm? Also, How effective is the AWD on the Juke in snow/ice? It's above average temperatures here so we have no snow to test drive that feature on right now.

Look at some videos on Youtube about the Nissan Rogue's AWD from Subaru's "Distribution of Power" and compare that to the Juke dirt/mud AWD videos. I've posted both on this forum as well. They're in some threads. Just search.

If the OP is coming from a Versa chances are that AWD is not critical to what they need. The Juke is nice, but if you're using it for work, and it sounds like as a DJ you have a fair ammount of equipment, the Rogue would probably be a better fit. I can't fit much w/ the rear seats up, down I barely got a 5 cu. ft. floor freezer loaded in. Definately get the backup camera, the Rogue has a pretty wicked blind spot due to the c-pillars.

Thanks. AWD isn't critical, however, when it snows here in Arkansas it's a nightmare because all they do is put gravel on the roadways. They don't do as much as they did in NY where I'm from. It would be a nice feature to have if it actually performed well but not required.

As far as storing equipment I wouldn't actually be putting anything in the Rogue or Juke for that. It would be pulled by a trailer IF I even decided to go that route. I don't want to use that as a deciding factor though. I'm mainly comparing Juke to Rogue equipment/value wise. It's about a $60-70 difference between the Rogue and Juke (Juke is higher).

Here are links to the two exact vehicles I'm looking at so you can see both side-by-side. Like I said, There's about a $60 difference in payment with the Juke being higher.

I'll be heading back down there to compare these more closely when I head out for lunch from the office this afternoon. Once again, I appreciate everyone's feedback and thoughts.

If I were in your shoes with my current knowledge and experience with the Juke, I would definitely pick the Rogue. It suits your needs more over the Juke hands down.

Do you mind explaining a bit further? What bad experience(s) have you had with the Juke that would make you go with the Rogue? I actually figured everyone would choose the Juke since it had AWD and a more stylish interior.

I just got back from 3 days in Lake Tahoe and my Juke performed absolutely great in the snow (with what little was there). The AWD with vectoring is what is really impressive as it makes driving on mountain roads almost as fun as riding a motorcycle.

I averaged 24mpg on the way up doing 70-80mph with a 7,000ft elevation gain from Oakland, CA to Truckee, CA. The Juke was loaded with 2 people weighing in at about 485lbs, 2 dogs, a snowboard and pair of skis on the roofrack, and all our gear(ski/board gear on the roof as well in a yakima basketcase). Got 27mpg on the way home doing about the same speed.

With approximately 12K on my AWD S Juke I have a total combined average 24mpg and that is about 80% city driving 20% highway. Highway driving at or below 75mpg and rural driving (45-60mph) without the roofrack gets me in the 30+ mpg range.

I was originally considering a Rogue but after test driving both the Juke won hands down. The Juke is going to definitely outperform the Rogue on the streets and highways, however, the Rogue is going to win when its comes to space and towing capacity.
    Juke S AWD (Graphite Blue)
Mods = Injen SRI, Stillen axleback exhaust, Freepower throttle controller, Yakima roofrack w/ basketcase, Botek armrest, Infinity Kappa 6 3/4" Speakers, fully dynamatted doors, floor & roof.

Rouge. The space and fuel economy alone makes the choice easy.

I picked the Juke when I got mine because it was new, and I wanted to check out the new DIG-T engine.

I don't know how much longer the Rogue is going to be around. It's getting a little long in the tooth. The Juke on the other hand has a direct injected turbo engine, electric power steering, and the latest gadgets.

Just remember your on a Juke oriented forum. Probably not the best place for an unbiased opinion.
