2011 juke fwd fuel tank capacity

Here is the official answer from the dealer and wikipedia. I don't like it but you might. Bottom line is just because you have a 13.2 gallon tank does not mean you can put 13.2 gallons of gasoline the tank. The reason is the fuel pump is inside the tank. I think they should change from the 13.2 gallon designation to whatever the to the actual liquid volume. I feel cheated.

Has anyone had the Juke fuel tank capacity measured by a mechanic?

That sounds about right. I filled my tank up with 20 miles before empty and it was only 10 gallons.

I filled my 11.8 gallon tank with 10.3 gallons with two bars left on the gauge. I can't believe the fuel pump would take up more that a quart (.25 gallons) of volume.

Someone needs to carry a gallon of fuel with them and see how fast past -- it will go.

My Xterra had a 19+ gallon tank, but I was never able to put more than 17 gallons in.
In the manual it specifically stated that the gas light comes on with about 3 gallons left as a safety buffer.
Perhaps the FWD Jukes have a similar buffer programmed in?

That's one heck of a reserve you got there, over 3 gallons.

Seems like the gauge and/or fuel level sensor are way off. You could take it to the dealer and let them check it out.

The last few fill-ups I've been getting 10.3-10.5 in my FWD Juke after driving it to "----" and two bars on the fuel gauge. Today, I measured and drove 16.2 miles past "----" and even though the gauge said I only had 1 bar left, I still only managed 10.6 gallons in the tank. The Juke must REALLY not want you to run out of gas. It must be hiding the extra 2.6 gallons within a secret compartment inside the tank. Lol
