Just got back from a spin on the Duc and found this was still going on...

    Steve,

For the record, I spent the better part of a decade in charge of the Chilton's editorial department. One of my perks, complete access to OEM press fleets. I attended a bunch of press junkets and I could call up any OEM and have the vehicle of my choice delivered to my door for a loan (from a week to a month).

So I brought home more vehicles than most will ever even ride in.

I've driven H1s both on and offroad.

I've owned some Jeeps and off-roaded them a bit.

I'm not saying the Jeep is the be-all-end all.

I'm just saying that the H1 has some major deficiences in some areas - much of which you've covered. Much of it comes from the military purposeful design and it's understandable.

That's all I was ever saying.

Anyway, now it's time for some Juke seat time...

Well of course this is still going on… You commented and I answered… Today even.
Although I doubt you drove the H1 on or off road, seeing you did state I am not familiar with the H1, (driving the H1 would make you familiar with it)(especially off roading it) I do believe you worked with the Clinton editorial department, seeing you like to jump through hoops instead of telling the complete truth.
The whole conversation began when you said, and I quote, “Well, I'm not familiar with the H1 except that it doesn't have much of a reputation as an off-roader, either in the military or civilian world.”
All I ever tried to say is that it has an awesome reputation as an off-roader in the military and civilian world, and if anyone disagreed, they probably have never driven one. That hands down it is the best stock 4x4 out there. I even put up a challenge for someone to find a better 4x4 and no one has done it yet. I’ve even had a cpl of people agree with me. You were the one who brought up getting high centered and angle issues. I just stated the facts and showed people where they could find the facts. That’s all.

I'm sure you will have something else to say since you are just like me, as in, I like to have the last word also... So, I hope it will be... Ya know Steve, You're right, The H1 is a great off-roader. I'm not sure what I was thinking. Please forgive me for my transgressions. (Kidding of Course)

I'm amused at the depth of your imagination and will be happy to buy you beers and debate the issue further if you make it out this way my friend that I've never met yet.

The feeling and offer is mutual on my side as well. I love good debates as I can see you do as well.

Do I see snow in your forecast soon? I hate the cold but looking forward to trying to Juke out in the Snow. Wish they had a lift for the Juke already!!!
