I am having the same issue. Had the remote starter installed at the dealer (cost me $450 - and this was a bargained down price!) and no mater what I do the heat will not stay on when the car is remotely started. Brought it back to the alarm place that the dealer used for the to install and the tech installed an additional wire and said it was fixed. It looked as if it was too b/c when he brought the car out he turned it off with the heat on then immediately started it with the remote and the heat was ON. I was excited...but it was short lived. Went to work and left the heat on. Started it remotely at lunch and the heat was OFF. I was so pissed. Guess the "memory" is only for a short time. Brought it back to Nissan service yesterday and the "top tech" from the alarm place came to look at it...still no answer. All I got was "everything is connected correctly". The service people at Nissan can't even give me a freakin straight answer if it's even possible for it to be done. I am really considering having them remove it. What's the point of having it remotely started and still getting into an ice cold car. The point is to get into a warm and toasty car and be able to set the defroster on so when there is snow it will help clean off the windows (not that we've had much snow this winter) LOL. It is nice to have the car be "warm" so when I get in so the heat does come on quickly but that's not worth $450 in my book!!

Service techs at dealerships know nothing at all about remote starts, it's always the first thing they will point the finger at when something is wrong with a car, most of them are very poor at diagnosing electrical issues, and are clueless as to what can be done with remote starts and how they should behave.
Get your money back and go find a reputable independent shop, it definitely isn't installed correctly, the temp and blower setting should stay where you left it at.
Depending on what bypass method was used for the install it is normal for no A/C in the summer though......but there are ways around it.

as a installer it is a installer error. the heat should work if you leave the heat on when you shut the car off then remote start it.
