Hi All! While i'm no stranger to Nissan cars, I just got my first Juke about a month ago, and absolutely love it. I picked up a 2016 SL AWD model. As i've been spending hours upon hours scouring these forums (A big thank you to everyone here who has been providing the content in these forums over the years!) and have been noticing that the v2 engines are much more limited in terms of aftermarket parts. This of course wouldn't have been a problem had I not found this forum! Too late now I guess.
Well now i'm hoping I can do at least a few things to enjoy the Juke more then just stock. I'm hoping an intake, axle-back exhaust (I love performance exhaust but do not like it loud.), lightweight pulley, and an ECU tune are doable for my car and will help the car feel more responsive and smooth. Looks like I wont be getting much further than those mods though (who at Nissan thought it would be a good idea to build the DV into the exhaust manifold???).
Another thing I found interesting about the Juke is the amount of differences between US/CAD versions of the same model! CDN Jukes don't have the armrest, the DRL's are different from what i've seen of the US models, and there is no spare tire toolbox. I'm sure there were other things, but it was quite a shocker to see these seemingly small differences between 2 North American cars. I guess they wanted to keep the cost down up here?
Anyways, i'm looking forward to continuing my reading on here and hope that the content will keep coming! Now if I can just find a good tune or performance shop around Ottawa so I don't have to head down to Toronto or Montreal!
^ ya, wtf? Maybe it's because 'mercans are lazier? I don't know. But I sure miss my armrest. And from what I remember (excluding the nismo with the funky led setup) DRL are strictly day time running lights. My 'low level' high beams are on when the car is on. Same with my old Jeep, same with my work van... those are DRL. Even pulling the parking brake won't shut them off. Not good for Nissan to sell to the police as a surveillance vehicle
After watching video after video of the SL AWD models on Youtube with the armrest, the first thing I noticed getting into the cdn Juke was the lack of one. To me the car feels completely different without it. I went and got one the day I picked up the car.
My DRL's are something I'm still trying to understand. I've read about different configurations on here and other sites, some sites say the DRL's aren't user serviceable (sure I get it, you might have to take out the washer fluid tube or some other small tweak to reach the assembly), but I was confused on how they were set up with the regular low/high beams... The DRL's are not the same as low beams. It looks to me like both low and high beams come from the projector lens inside the headlights, while the DRL is outside that little projector lens and is substantially dimmer than the low beams. When the low beams are turned on, the lights inside that little projector lens turn on and the DRL's surrounding that lens turn off.
The only reason I've even invested this much time trying to figure these out, is that while they provide the nice looking white LED's in the alligator eyes, the DRL's are the standard yellow color, which in my opinion, looks extremely tacky when paired with the white LED's. I'm less concerned with a getting whiter color hi/low beams as I am with the DRL's since they are always on.

Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your limited mods. . You will be fine with what you have. The exhaust side is more important for the turbo for the most part. Then tune. Ecutek will prolly be your best bet.
When I first got my Juke I noticed the same thing, the Gators are a nice white LED and the other lights were the yellowish OEM lights wtf. I switched out the projectors to whiter bulbs but the DRL's are very difficult to change on the V2 Jukes.
Yeah I initially only wanted to change the DRL's, but considering the amount of work to get to the assembly on one of the sides, might just do them all at once. Then at that point, why not switch to HID assemblies? lol slippery slope.
Easily done. Just remove your Secondary Cat and Resonator. Up the piping to 3" from the Primary CAT/DP to as close to your OEM muffler and step it back down to OEM size. Yes Keep your OEM muffler. The exhaust flow at that distance wont get restricted that much.
See, this is why I came here... I had not thought about this approach. Sure I could remove the second cat/resonator, sure I could get a performance exhaust muffler, but this sounds like it would be the best of both worlds - improving/reducing the turbo back pressure on the exhaust without sacrificing sound decibels (I guess i'm actually OK with a bit louder exhaust, but droning is a no-no). Isn't there a sensor of some sort in the secondary cat pipe?
Sounds like this is a project best suited for a custom exhaust shop. I'll have to look around. Since the car is new and warrantied, I was more partial to bolt-on solutions. We'll see how long that mindset lasts...
The AWD called Downpipe/2nd CAT delete is just a straight 3" pipe per say. Buy this and mount it up. Then test it out. See if you get what you want out of it. Do baby steps. If you think you can get a little more out of her power wise and not increase the noise. Run the larger pipe towards the OEM muffler. I dont think this will be the case on the AWD. I think doing the CAT delete pipe will get you what you want. But who knows. I have a FWD RS and the exhausts and power curves are slightly different plus the CVT vs 6speed.
Sounds good. Yeah the terminology is sometimes confusing when people use the same phrase for slightly different mods. most of the 'bolt-on' 2nd Cat delete pipes i've seen so far are around the 2.5" range, probably so they can be bolted onto the stock exhaust flanges easier?
Ah yes, the CVT. I only have about 1,000 miles on the car so far, but I can already tell the CVT is where the car needs the most work. It might be due to the car still learning my driving habits, but this CVT does not act or feel anything like the CVT in my 2016 Rogue. I'm hoping a tune will alleviate some of the issues i'm noticing (rubber-banding, and sometimes it refuses to lower the gear ratio for a few seconds after decreasing throttle during initial acceleration).
